House Structure and Care Classes

Our House structure is named after the star constellations of Leo, Argo, Orion and Pegasus.  During the school term students take part in House Challenges including weekly indoor and outdoor activities.  These help foster a sense of belonging, teamwork and community and cumulate in a House Rewards Day at the end of Term 1,2 and 3 and an excursion for the winning house overall at the end of the year school year.

Students also compete for their respective houses in school events such as the athletics carnival, swimming gala and cross country event.

We pride ourselves on knowing our students and creating a family environment where students feel safe and valued.  Our care program is run around our House structure.  Dedicated teachers look after a group of Year 7-12 students supported by a House Leader and House Dean. Morning lessons for each student start with a Care Class where the Care Class teacher will support students in their academic progress, monitor attendance and attend to the overall welfare of their students.

Student expectations

A cultural of student leadership is fostered from Years 7 and 8 with the Student House Council; through Junior Secondary leadership in Year 9; to the Interact Club and school leadership in senior years.  Our students are held to high expectations to uphold our school values.

We operate a Pride, Passion and Pathways Enrichment Program across the school and have high expectations of performance, attendance, uniform and behaviour.

With a diverse range of students from many different backgrounds we organise activities designed to celebrate cultural differences and allow for all students to participate in activities which promote an understanding of Aboriginal culture and heritage.

Our students also participate in the ‘Respect Project – Commit to it! Initiative which is a scheme adopted and promoted by schools in the local area to promote respect both within schools and the wider community.
