Entry into our Signature Programs for Year 7, 2026
To apply for our Signature Programs (Sports Extension, Dance Extension, Academic Extension, Music Extension) you will first need to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) for general entry to Clontarf Beach State High School, where you will indicate your interest in the selected programs.
You will then be sent an application form for the Signature Programs that you are interested in.
Students must maintain high effort, behaviour and attendance to retain their place in the Signature Program.
Students can apply for multiple programs, however, they will only be selected for one of either Sports, Dance or Music. Students can participate in Academic Extension in addition to any of the Signature Programs.
Dance Excellence Program
As the only school on the peninsula that offers Dance Extension, teachers ensure that the program and opportunities are vibrant and dynamic, focusing on polishing core techniques across a range of dance styles, fostering creativity & igniting passion for dance.
Sports Extension Squad
The Sports Extension Squad program at CBSHS aims to provide students under 15 with a structured and engaging athletic experience. By focusing on numerous sports, the program enhances movement skills, builds overall fitness, and fosters a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.
Student growth is supported both on and off the fieldby streamlining a clear senior sports pathway, ensuring long-term success beyond Year 9. With a strong foundation in sports science, skill acquisition, and leadership, the program aims to create well-rounded athletes.
Summit Academic Extension Program
Our Summit Academic Extension program is designed to challenge and develop students with outstanding academic ability by employing higher-order and critical thinking strategies.
Instrumental Music Program
Our Instrumental Music Program provides a rewarding opportunity for enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated music students. The program aims to give ALL students the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and perform in an ensemble. Students will be involved in various music camps, workshops and tours.
Aquatics Practices and Marine Science
Offered in years 11 and 12, Aquatic Practices builds an appreciation of our natural environment as students explore this through activities such as snorkelling, cooking, fishing and boating. Marine Science is a university pathway subject that grows a deeper understanding of the importance of environment in our ever-changing world by incorporating knowledge from a range of subjects, through laboratory opportunities and field works.
Study a Certificate (Vocational Education)
Offering certificates in construction, hospitality, engineering pathways, fitness and health services prepare our senior students for the workforce. The courses build skill sets that are translatable to a range of trades and in industry roles, providing exposure to relevant tools and machinery.
