Specialist software is used throughout every subject area to enhance the curriculum. The library provides a charging station along with general desktops and printing facilities. All classrooms boast technology with the inclusion of data projectors, speakers and smart boards.
At Clontarf Beach State High School students will use their own devices as one tool to create knowledge, innovate and solve problems on a daily basis. Staff will facilitate quality learning experiences where students collaboratively use technology to develop skills and attributes of global citizens, leading to enhanced learning outcomes.
As the federally funded, National Secondary Schools Fund finished in 2012, schools are now responsible for the replacement of the 1-1 laptop scheme previously funded. This, along with the requirement for 24/7 learning in this digital age, has led to schools moving towards a
Bring Your Own Device (BYOx) program to be implemented.
In 2017, all students will be encouraged to bring their own device to school to connect to the school network.
2014 - 2016 has seen the school undertake a software, hardware and technological audit to be ready to undertake the move to this program. The school has also been implementing phases for the use of The Learning Place within classrooms where curriculum documents can be accessed easily and conveniently from their mobile devices outside of the school.
